Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer has already admitted that they are looking to support the Blu-ray format following the demise of HD-DVD.
Although Ballmer did not specifically mention gaming, it does look as if Microsoft will soon announce a Blu-ray add-on player for the Xbox 360.
Speaking at the Mix08 conference, Ballmer said: "We've already been working on, for example, in Windows, device driver support for Blu-ray drives and the like.
"I think the world moves on," he added. "Toshiba has moved on. We've moved on, and we'll support Blu-ray in ways that make sense."
