Xbox 360 sales increased 260 percent following the Elite's launch.

UK PSP Sales Hit Record Low, 360 Sales Rocket

According to figures from data monitor ChartTrack, the PSP has just recorded its lowest ever weekly sales figure, MCV reports.

Sony attributed the decline in sales to consumers’ desire to purchase the Slim and Lite PSP, due to hit shelves next week, telling MCV that retailers were ‘thinning out’ stock of the original PSP to make room for the redesigned model.

In sharp contrast, week-on-week sales of Microsoft's Xbox 360 rose by 260 percent following the release of the Elite model and a reduction in price of the Core and Premium versions. Sales fell only 20 percent during the Elite's second week of availability.
