Is the ps3 doomed to the 3rd place maybe not but right now its not looking good, although selling ok in europe in the states things are dire with a 60% drop in June only selling 98,000 units sitting way behind 360 & wii sales, they just reached 1 million in there own backyard japan which i would have thought they'd achieved months ago! so they clearly have there work cut out.
Right now they need a miracle they badly need some kind of momentum going, they've got some big games on the horizon but there all next year nothing unfortunately in the Christmas stocking, i really hope that MG4 killzone & there other killer apps don't arrive to late to save the machine as they are loosing exclusives by the truck load just yesterday i saw MG4 listed on HMV track for the 360 so who knows the may lose that big title too, but don't forget as a business it all a long term strategy so its very early days yet.
As for the 360 they have there own problems! although they have a comfortable lead on the rival sony they must keep up there high standard of content & great games which right now is not an issue because the lineup is amazing & xboxlive is on a roll right now but will the three rings of death come back & bite them on the ass, we know they have done a sterling job with the customer service & warranty but there's still allot of the old batch which may break down in the holiday season,have they escaped time will tell..
Well well the Nintendo wii right now just can't be stopped, sales are going through the roof even the GBA is showing strong sale's it looks like the casual gamer are showing us gamers that they can have fun too! i just fear that they dont leave their hardcore gamers out in the cold this christmas like frozen turkeys..
