DVD Forum Approves Three Layer 51GB HD DVDs

At its 40th Steering Committee Meeting, the DVD Forum has approved the triple-layer HD DVD ROM (read only) specification proposed by Toshiba. The new HD DVD ROM disc has a three-layer structure, with each layer storing 17GB of data, offering a total disc capacity of 51 gigabytes. Currently, HD DVD ROM has a single-layer capacity of 15 GB, with dual-layer discs offering 30 GB. The new disc, which can store up to 7 hours of high-definition video, shares the same disc structure as standard DVD and previously announced HD DVD formats: two 0.6-mm thick discs bonded back-to-back. This time-tested physical structure offers proven volume manufacturing at little cost increment. With this latest development, the HD DVD camp is able to offer a product that matches the capacity offered by a dual-layer Blu-ray Disc.

No time for gimmicks and tricks and PS3 look-alikes without the specs!!
HD-DVD is just for movies.
And Blu-ray is for everything and Recordable

Xbox 360 is not offering games on HD-DVD like PS3
Anyway PS3 hardware is far, far, far more superior, built-in Blu-ray, built-in Blue-tooth and built-in WIFI, HDMI,,, etc, etc NOW COME ON???
It also has a true media-payer extender built in, way better interface and online features!!!
(I can even use my own hard drive for game saves or output to PC save!! MAAAAAAN……)

The games on PS3 are there also!(download PSone and other games) up and coming line up!! Its just the TV and broadcasting media playing it down.

Microsoft know there system falls short of PS3 power and got the media on there side because of PS3 delay??? So what about PS3 delay its hear now, SO enjoy the PS3 goodness!!!

My goodness…….
Even PS3 computing is excellent & blows away 360s bogus

only them that have PS3 and know how to use it, Know what i am talking about!!

PS3 is heavy….Nuff said!!!....................
